The application of the von Neumann ratio and the Durbin-Watson statistics to electrochemical science for testing the existence of randomness and autocorrelation in certain experimental observation sets is illustrated by means of five quantitative examples, along with appropriate approximations by the normal (Gaussian) distribution.
