ABSTRACT

This work presents the formal aspects of two non-Markovian infrared spectral theories for a multilevel quantum system in weak interaction with a thermal bath. Special attention is paid to memory and mixing effects and to the system-bath interaction time autocorrelation functions. A brief summary of numerical results for hydrogen halides in simple liquids is given.
