ABSTRACT

The importance of utilizing proper calibration samples and wavelengths for accurate and precise quantitative analysis cannot be stressed enough. This is true whether K-matrix analysis or P-matrix analysis is used for calibration and prediction of future samples. After a brief introduction to K- and P-matrix analysis, this paper discusses the significance of a proper calibration design. Examples from the literature are utilized to demonstrate concepts.
