Despite the fact that the presence of protein kinase C in the nucleus was reported more than 12 years ago, its regulation within this organelle is far from being understood. In this article, we will briefly review our current knowledge about nuclear second lipid messengers that could be involved in controlling the activity of different protein kinase C isoforms which have been identified at the nuclear level.
