ABSTRACT This is a review of the authors` work in applications of NMR spectroscopy to the identification and quantification of the metabolites of cyclophosphamide under various conditions. Observed nuclei include 1H, 2H, 13C, 15N, 17O, and 31P. Among the NMR applications presented are titration, cell perfusion, selective INEPT, and two-dimensional heteronuclear correlation experiments. The metabolites discussed include cis- and trans-4-hydroxycyclo-phosphamide, aldophosphamide (and its hydrate), iminocyclophosphamide, phosphoramide mustard, nor-nitrogen mustard, acrolein, and carboxyphosphamide.
