ABSTRACT

The use of polymer-anchored palladium catalysts in the synthesis of deoxybenzoins and triarylethanones, key intermediates for the preparation of several heterocyclic units, is reviewed. In addition, such heterogeneous catalysts can be efficiently applied to the direct formation of diarylbenzofurans from deoxybenzoins by a tandem C-/O-arylation reactions.
