ABSTRACT Dioxotetraamine macrocyclic compounds are of great interest in the field of coordination chemistry and have been studied intensively in recent years. This paper comments on the synthesis, thermodynamic and kinetic properties of the dioxotetraamine macrocyclic compounds based on the previous work of our group in order to understand further some of the important factors that influence the coordinating ability, the coordinating pathway and the stability of the dioxotetraamine macrocyclic compounds. At the same time, the research direction in the future is outlined which has been looked forward to.
