ABSTRACT An analysis is presented to investigate the flow and heat transfer characteristics of a laminar curved wall jet with variable magnetic field. The governing momentum and energy equations are solved numerically by the series expansion method. Numerical results are presented for the wall shear stress, velocity distribution, wall heat transfer rate, and temperature distribution. The range of Prandtl numbers investigated was 0.01 to 100. Discussion is provided for the effect of curvature as well as the magnetic field strength on the velocity field and temperature field.
