ABSTRACT

Macrocyclic compounds have been widely used as receptors for different species. Those ligands containing electrochemical active systems can be used as chemosensors due to the modification that the electrochemical properties experiment after complexation. Among this type of systems, receptors conformationally constrained shows very particular properties because of the different electrochemical behaviour of the different conformations. In that sense, biaryl systems (biphenyl, binaphthyl and bithiophene) are considered.
