ABSTRACT The preparation of PEO-ENR(70-30) solid polymer electrolyte was carried out to study the effect of the LiClO 4 salt concentration on its ionic conductivity. The samples were tested using impedance spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The samples were prepared with different percentage of LiClO 4 salt using solvent-casting technique. The highest conductivity of 1.4 x 10 -3 Scm -1 was obtained at 15 wt. % of LiClO 4. The amorphous phase for the PEO-ENR-LiClO 4 was found to increase with the salt content. This is due to the change in the electrolyte structure. The morphology of the samples shows the irregularities, which appears as amorphous region, increases as the increase of salt concentration. In conclusion, the addition of LiClO4 carrier salt will improve the ionic conductivity of PEO-ENR solid polymeric electrolyte.
