ABSTRACT

The recent progress in the transition metal-catalyzed allylic substitution and its application into the synthesis of heterocycles are summarized. This review highlights the regio- and enantio-selective allylic substitutions involving carbon-nitrogen or carbon-oxygen bond formation. In addition to asymmetric reaction of π-allyl intermediate generated from allylic alcohol derivatives, the reactions of alkenyloxiranes, alkenylaziridines or propargyl alcohol derivatives have been shown.
