ABSTRACT

The beta distribution, although widely accepted in general as an important tool for modeling physical measurements confined between finite limits, has not yet been applied adequately to electrochemical phenomena. The paper presents a concise theoretical foundation, and illustrates its potential usefulness via three specific examples. Firstly, the estimation of the proportion of electroplated items with layer thickness between targeted limits is described. In the second example, the fragility of electrolytically produced dendrites is analyzed. The estimation of the time requirement for constructing an electrochemical plant, in terms of the project evaluation and review technique (PERT), is the subject of the third illustration.
