As part of our continuing studies on the Allium sulfides exhibiting antitumor effects, we isolated a new sulfide named garlicnin IB and characterized its structure as a novel bis-thiolane-type sulfide. It was combined with 3,4-dimethylthiolane-type and 2-methylthiolane-type S-oxide, and is expected to possess anti-cancer activity.
