ABSTRACT In this work, cubic equation of state (EoS) was selected to represent liquid density behavior on account of the scarce experimental data used for comparison. Then, for the five hydrocarbons, nonane, decane, dodecane, pentadecane and hexadecane, compressibility parameter and isothermal coefficient were calculated, at a range of pressures (1-30 atm) and a temperature range of 350-550 K. According to the results for carbon dioxide, bulk modulus (KT) with regard to the temperature dimension, for the compound in liquid phase is similar to that for the same in solid phase. Then, based on these results, in this work, bulk modulus and its first derivative were estimated at 200 K for three compounds in solid phase by extrapolating the results obtained for the compounds in liquid phase. Despite there being no experimental data available in the literature, these results were found to be consistent with the thermodynamic constraints and useful discussions are provided here.
