ABSTRACT Humanity is currently experiencing the pinnacle of the most technologically advanced era ever recorded, and with rapid development and expansion of computing capabilities, we are nearing the heretofore hypothetical concept of machine singularity. The exponential growth of artificial intelligence over recent years has begun to influence clinical treatment planning, with current trials examining applications in neurologic, neurosurgical, and neurorehabilitative care. This article examines some of the opportunities and applications of artificial intelligence in the clinical realm, as well as discusses some of the possible pitfalls with regard to its implementation.
