ABSTRACT Many physical phenomena of polymers happen in a certain space at a certain moment or last a certain period of time, and meanwhile the polymers may be subjected to some external actions. In view of this, a concept ‘time-space-fields’ is presented and described. Subsequently, it is applied to elucidate several aspects about morphologies and properties of polymers, including crystallization, orientation, glass transition, rubber elasticity, viscoelasticity, and viscous fluidity. Time-space-fields, which can easily expound these common but important behaviors of polymers, can be regarded as a universal concept in polymer physics.
