ABSTRACT

Lowbush or wild blueberry is a unique native North American crop. It is comprised of six plant species in the genus Vaccinium. The crop is usually not planted. In nature it occurs as a forest understory plant. Its cultivation starts with the removal of the forest and then the crop is increased with the use of burning or herbicides. This literature review covers the history of its cultivation and insect pest management from 1949 to the present.
