Artificial intelligence (AI) and image texture analysis techniques have been shown to be a promising technology for computer-assisted diagnostic (CAD) interpretation of medical images. In this paper, we present a review of CAD applications for the prediction of acute pulmonary embolism (PE) from ventilation-perfusion lung scans.
