ABSTRACT The application of photochemical kinetic measurements for the study of molecular environments, with particular attention to reaction dynamics, is discussed, along with the potential of photobleaching measurements as an effective and simple technique for obtaining such data. Recent progress in the analytical description of photobleaching, in both stirred and transport-free media, is presented, and some applications to the behavior of anthracene endoperoxide formation in thin polymer films are described.
