A brief review of the study on the coincident effect of vibration isolation by plate barriers is presented. The concept of coincident effect and the former study on this subject are outlined. A brief introduction of our recent work and the idea of the further work on this subject are mentioned. Based on lots of relative references we believe our study will be carried out successfully and it is meaningful for engineering designs of several fields, such as vibration machine foundations, highways, airports, underground railway pavements, buildings with slab foundations, etc.
