 ABSTRACT

This paper is devoted to the discussion on the applications of sol-gel based carbon electrodes for electrochemical detection (ECD) in capillary electrophoresis (CE) analysis. Different types of such sol-gel carbon composite electrodes (CCEs) will be discussed with respect to their applications in the analysis of different biomolecules. The intrinsic flexible nature of the sol-gel process for CE analysis will be highlighted and a novel integrated on-capillary sol-gel derived platform for amperometric detection will be presented.
