ABSTRACT

This paper reviews a number of applications of IR and UV spectroscopy especially dedicated to solve practical problems in the fuels field. The paper is divided in two sections. The first deals with the application of Fourier Transform Infrared Photoacoustic  Spectroscopy (FT-IR/PAS) to solid fuels and catalysts; the second highlights some results obtained on liquid fuels through an original data handling of UV spectra.
