ABSTRACT

Layered titanium phosphates are interesting as ion exchangers and precursors of molecular sieves and pillaring materials. These metal phosphates are versatile materials amenable to structural design by modulation of both their ionic frameworks and organic constituents. The behaviour of α- and γ-titanium phosphate in processes of ion exchange, intercalation by organic compounds and intercalation by polymeric species is discussed.
