ABSTRACT

It was known that two empirical rules concerning the electron donor-acceptor concept hold for solvation of ions. On the basis of the rules the absolute electron donating and accepting properties of solvents, ionic, and molecular substances were determined. Furthermore, bond nature in different systems was elucidated in terms of these properties.
