ABSTRACT

The theoretical treatments as well as some of the practical considerations related to the atomisation mechanisms of analytes into a graphite tube are reviewed. The theoretical treatments cover both thermodynamic and kinetics aspects. Among the kinetic parameters, the activation energy, the kinetic order, and the rate constants are considered. Atomisation mechanisms included some basic considerations and general practical aspects of analytes in the presence and absence of chemical modifiers.
