ABSTRACT

The attachment and fusion of measles virus (MV) to host cells is mediated by two viral envelope glycoproteins, hemagglutinin protein (H) and fusion protein (F). CD46 (membrane cofactor protein) and SLAM (signaling lymphocyte activation molecule) had been identified to be MV cellular receptors. Here we reviewed the function and interactions of these molecules and, including potential moesin, propose a hypothesis for MV infection.
