ABSTRACT

This paper describes a comparative study concerning the effects of temperature on both phosphorylase forms of Mytilus mantle. The mechanisms of activity acceleration and decrease and the activity ratio of both forms (phosphorylated and unphosphorylated) observed, suggest a high covalent activation of the enzyme as an immediate adaptative response to stress thermic and a rapid acclimatization to this environmental factor.
