ABSTRACT

This review discusses experimental results about supported metallocenes, used in ethylene and/or propylene polymerization, on inorganic (SiO2, Zeolites) and biopolimeric supports (cellulose, chitosan and starch). Two different metallocenes have been evaluated: (Cp2ZrCl2 and EtInd2ZrCl2). The role of Lewis acids (AlCl3) and bases (Ethyl Benzoate) on the activity of SiO2 supported catalysts were studied. The ZSM5 zeolite support was analyzed taking into account the influence of acidic properties on the catalysts performance. The biopolymeric supports are an interesting alternative to more conventional supports.
