ABSTRACT

The most common limitation of enantioselective synthetic chemical and enzymatic reactions is insufficient enantioselectivity. This review describes recent progress towards enantioselectivity, prochiral selectivity, regioselectivity, and chemoselectivity of lipase-catalyzed reactions. Several possible strategies to regulate lipase-reactivity are discussed from the standpoint of organic chemistry.
