Morphology and structure of macromolecular cholesteric liquid crystals of cellulose derivatives, the polymerization of the solvents in the liquid crystalline solutions and the variation of the structure during the polymerization were reviewed in this paper. The structural features of macromolecular cholesteric liquid crystals and the relationship between the properties and the structures of the composites were also discussed.
