The review summarizes the results obtained by means of steady-state and time-resolved photothermal methods, particularly suited in investigations for technological and medical applications. The studies were concentrated on the dye inter- and intramolecular interactions, in natural oils important for food and pharmaceutical productions as well as in health and pathologically changed lymphocytes - for photomedical purposes.
