ABSTRACT
 
Hepatitis C virus-related end stage-liver disease is the most common indication for liver transplantation in the western countries. Recurrence is immediate and universal but its prognosis is variable from one patient to another. This article aims to present available data on natural history of hepatitis C after liver transplantation and on the variables associated with disease progression.
