ABSTRACT

The electrochemical preparation of conducting polymers, including polypyrrole, polythiophene, polyaniline, etc., was reviewed. The effects of the solvents, electrolytes, concentration of monomer and electrolytes, pH value of aqueous solutions, as well as the polymerization temperature, current and potential etc. on the electropolymerization processes were discussed. The mechanism of the electropolymerization was described.
