ABSTRACT

A lupane-type triterpene, lupeyl docosanoate (1b), has been isolated from the bark extract of Hymenocardia acida, along with lupeol and β-sitosterol. The structure determination of lupeyl docosanoate was based on an extensive analysis of its NMR and mass spectra data. Moreover conformational space of lupeyl docosanoate explored by molecular dynamics calculations, showed amphiphilic “horseshoes” conformations which can explained an indirect anti-malarial and anti-inflammatory activities.
