ABSTRACT

Cytochromes P450 constitute a family of mono-oxygenases which catalyze the oxidation of endogenous and exogenous substrates in a wide range of animals and plants. The proteins of this gene family catalyze a considerable array of crucial reactions in plant secondary metabolism, the products of which are responsible for biochemical taxonomic variation.
