ABSTRACT

Existing various models for elementary transport properties of packed-sphere systems are critically reviewed to establish predictive models that can be used for analyses of several transport processes in packed beds of spheres.

The ability of the recommended models in predicting thermal and radiative characteristics of conduction, radiation and combined conductive and radiative heat transfer in packed beds is also examined.
