ABSTRACT Sulfur dioxide adsorption rate and equilibrium were investigated on molecular sieve 4A zeolite using a continuous packed bed reactor. The adsorption experiments were carried out at 323-473 K temperature with an initial sulfur dioxide concentration range of 0.0928-0.3607 mol/m3 in nitrogen carrier gas. Adsorption rate constants and the first order deactivation rate constants were determined. The adsorption equilibrium data were analysed with Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm models.
