Thermal non-destructive testing techniques are growing more and more thanks to their advantage of inspecting large areas in a fast and reliable way. Most of such techniques are based on the analysis of the thermal process during the transient regime. Results given by the usage of thermal models for analysis of aeronautic structures and works of art are illustrated.

Thermal process simulation needs the knowledge of thermal properties of materials, but vice versa mathematical models helps in thermal property practical measurement, as diffusivity.
