ABSTRACT

The repeated-birthdays-problem (RBP) concerns the probability of two or more persons in a group possessing different birthdays (or conversely, sharing the same birthday). The probability law that governs RBP, although seemingly unrelated to physical objects, applies equally to scientific and technological scenarios where the objects have distinct or shared physical characteristics. In this paper, anodic stripping voltammetry, and analysis based on electron capture serve for indicating the potential utility of the generalized RBP to the practice of analytical chemistry.
