ABSTRACT

The possible usage of a potentiometric urine glucose biosensor was briefly examined employing glucose oxidase (GOD) reaction involving potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) [HCF(III)] mediation. A paper-based disposable reagent sheet that adsorbed GOD and HCF(III), and facilitated washing out after measurement, was put into a sample hole of the pH meter. A proportional glucose response in control human urine was obtained between pH and glucose at a 1 min reaction (19.2 - 200.8 mg dL-1, sensitivity: -0.0082 pH dL mg-1, r = -0.989).
