In this article, first the transport mechanisms of heat and mass in moist porous media are discussed. Next, a brief review of the developments in modeling for transport processes in porous media is presented. Then, main attention is paid to the applications of the “multifield-phase change-diffusion model” which was originally proposed by the authors to investigate the transport processes of heat, moisture, oxygen and solute in moist unsaturated porous media.
