ABSTRACT

A review is presented of meteorological effects on sound propagation. The weather interacts with many parts in the mechanism of outdoor sound propagation; such as atmospheric absorption, ground attenuation, refraction and atmospheric turbulence. The goal is to briefly present the current state of knowledge in the different areas. Emphasis is made on the authors on contributions. Knowledge of meterological effects on sound propagation is of interest for all concerned with acoustics.
