ABSTRACT

In the search for new anti-inflammatory compounds, seven natural products (four coumarins and three flavonoids) were isolated as the major components of the ethyl acetate extracts of Santolina oblongifolia Boiss. The organic extracts of this plant exert anti-inflammatory actions in conventional in vivo rat assays. This article summarizes the research work on this plant, the compounds isolated from it and the assays of its biological activities which have been carried out by our group over the last decade.
