ABSTRACT

We examine the thermal resistance of surfactants based on sugar moieties that are extracted from pectin. This study is relevant for the evaluation of the possibility to use these surfactants as binders for bitumen. The technique used is thermogravimetric analysis and we examine the temperature interval from the ambient temperature to 150°C. The molecules investigated are stable in the range of temperatures used by road construction workers to make pavements.
