The present review considers a new approach to the synthesis of polyfunctionally substituted heteroaromatic compounds, namely pyrimidines, pyrazoles, isoxazoles, indazoles and benzisoxazoles, pyridazines, cinnolines and pyranones. Since the existing synthetic approaches to these heterocyclic compounds are generally multistage, tedious and require several not readily available materials, in this review was reported novel simple efficient synthetic routes of these compounds using enaminones inexpensive available starting materials, affording the above compounds in excellent yields.
